Target Audience: Obstetric and emergency room nurses
Program Description: This course is designed to review several obstetrical emergencies which require the caregiver to recognize risk factors, assessment findings and required interventions to low volume/high risk OB situations. Throughout the day, several obstetrical emergencies will be reviewed along with describing signs and symptoms and priority interventions needed/required; these include, but are not limited to: pre-eclampsia/HELLP syndrome, obstetrical hemorrhage situations, shoulder dystocia, emergency delivery, uterine trauma and premature labor. In addition, knowledge learned will be applied and integrated into several simulated case studies.
