APPLICATION FOR LEADERSHIP RESIDENCY PROGRAM 2026-2027

RWHC is pleased to announce Year 11 of our LEADERSHIP RESIDENCY PROGRAM!

Support the transition of your new leaders as they step up to the challenges of managing, supervising and directing roles! This year-long, bi-monthly leadership residency brings together new health care leaders to expedite their success.

Application Deadline: June 15, 2026
RWHC Members may submit multiple applications. Class size is limited, so register early as the class will be filled on a first come, first served basis.

Target Audience:
Novice leaders/supervisors/managers/directors/team leads/charge nurses with less than one year of experience in a leadership role. The commitment is for the full year of the program.

How to Apply:

Step 1: Your application starts with completion of our Leadership Residency Application.

Step 2: To understand your commitment to the program, the applicant’s supervisor and CEO must review the program commitments.

Step 3: Program facilitators will review all complete applications and send a residency acceptance determination no later than July 15, 2026.

Step 4: The registration fee will be billed to your organization once the application is accepted.

RWHC & Affiliate Member Fee:

$3,400 per participant
$3,000 per participant if three or more register from the same facility

Non-RWHC Member Fee:
$4,000 per participant
$3,600 per participant if three or more register from the same facility

Fee includes program handouts and refreshments.

The registration fee will be billed to your organization once the application is accepted. Cancellations received up to two weeks prior to the first session will receive a full refund, less a $500 cancellation fee. No refunds will be given for cancellations received less than two weeks prior to the program. Substitutions are accepted.

Location and Dates:

The in-person modules will be held at the RWHC Office & Training Center in Sauk City
(directions to RWHC).

  • Session 1: Thursday, October 8 and Friday, October 9, 2026
  • Session 2: Thursday, December 10 and Friday, December 11, 2026
  • Session 3: Thursday, February 11 and Friday, February 12, 2027
  • Session 4: Thursday, April 8 and Friday, April 9, 2027
  • Session 5: Thursday, June 10 and Friday, June 11, 2027
  • Session 6: Thursday, August 12 and Friday, August 13, 2027

The first day of each session is held from 12:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. CT,
and the second day from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. CT. Click here for details of the program.

Instructors:

Corrie Searles photo

Corrie Searles, MPT, is Leadership Development Educator at the Rural Wisconsin Health Cooperative. With her 20+ years of experience in leadership both in and out of health care, her past roles have included leadership for therapy teams in hospitals, long term care, outpatient, and home health, as well as Cardiac Rehab, Occupational Health, Fitness Centers, and Stress Testing. Corrie has extensive experience in continuous improvement methodology and a passion for leadership development training. She has a Master’s in Physical Therapy, a Certificate in Organizational Leadership, and a Certificate in Customer Service & Leadership training with Achieve Global. She is certified to teach Crucial Conversations through Vital Smarts in addition to being a certified coach for Shift Positive 360.

Erin Smital

Erin Smital, BS, RN, is Nursing Professional Development Educator, Nurse Residency Coordinator and Lean Residency Coordinator at the Rural Wisconsin Health Cooperative. Along with being an RN, Erin brings forward years of experience in various leadership roles in and out of healthcare. In addition to developing and presenting numerous leadership and nursing focused workshops, she also provides training in de-escalation as a Certified Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Instructor.

Sarah Ewers photo

Sarah Ewers, BSN, RN, is Nursing Clinical Development Educator at the Rural Wisconsin Health Cooperative. Sarah earned her Bachelor in Science of Nursing through Viterbo University and continues to hold herself accountable for multiple hours of continuing education. She brings a wealth of experience in providing quality care to patients in multiple settings including Intensive Care, Medical-Surgical, Rehabilitation, Assisted Living, and Long-Term Care. She has a fresh approach that participants can relate to and bring back to their work practice to implement and grow in their career.
