Pediatric Assessment and Emergencies

It is imperative to recognize that pediatric patients are not little adults. This 7-module course is designed to review the anatomy and physiology considerations that differentiate the assessment of the pediatric patient from that of an adult. Within the assessment findings, children will demonstrate subtle clues that their condition is beginning to deteriorate requiring the healthcare provider to rapidly intervene before they decompensate. Throughout these modules several pediatric emergencies will be reviewed along with describing priority interventions needed/required. Knowledge learned will be applied and integrated into several case studies throughout the course.
