Emerging Leaders: Preparation for Tomorrow’s Future Leaders (4-part) 2025
Event Starts: 2/12/2025 8:30 AM Event Ends: 3/26/2025 12:30 PM
Some individuals are born with an inclination towards natural leadership. They lead informally without titles within our facilities, positively influencing peers and group efforts. Continuing to challenge these individuals and support their development may be the key to retaining them as employees and ensuring the ongoing pipeline of internal promotion for future leadership roles. This 2-day program lays the foundation for growing elements associated with their emerging success as an effective leader. The program roots characteristics of servant leadership, offers participants exposure to example and advice of respected leaders within health care, builds interpersonal skills associated with positive influence of others, and initiates technical supervisory skills.

Tell me more- The Art of Giving and Receiving Feedback - 2025
Event Starts: 2/12/2025 9:00 AM Event Ends: 2/12/2025 3:30 PM
Feedback is one of the most challenging things for a leader to give, and can be one of the most difficult things for an individual to hear. Delivering and receiving feedback is a skill many of us struggle with on a daily basis. Often our intentions are misunderstood and conversations can quickly go south when using the wrong phrase, tone of voice, or delivery method. Although it can be nerve wracking or difficult to deliver feedback there is no individual, position or role in an organization that can grow without it.

Lateral Violence- Dealing with Disruptive Behaviors - 2025
Event Starts: 2/19/2025 9:00 AM Event Ends: 2/19/2025 3:30 PM
A silent killer has made its way into the health care system, has slowly eaten away at the core of who we are as professionals, and has impacted the culture of health care. This epidemic is known as lateral violence or sometimes referred to as horizontal violence. Lateral violence and bullying have been extensively reported and documented among health care professionals with serious negative outcomes for patients, staff and employers. These disruptive behaviors are toxic to the health care profession and have a negative impact on retention of quality staff. “Eating our young” is no longer acceptable and it is time that we shed some light on this darkness that permeates our organizations. This workshop is designed to help you understand the ramifications of allowing lateral violence to continue and persist, to recognize the most common behaviors, and to develop methods/techniques to address and prevent ongoing hostility.

Empowering Staff: Using Questions to Foster Critical Thinking and Challenge Victim Thinking - 2025
Event Starts: 2/25/2025 9:00 AM Event Ends: 2/25/2025 12:00 PM
This workshop offers approaches based in research that leaders can employ to ease their demands for day-to-day problem-solving and fire-fighting (allowing time for more strategic focus) while growing the skills and capabilities of the employees they are serving. It also teaches ways to challenge the victim thinking that accompanies the self-talk of hard times, increasing the employees’ focus on resolution and action rather than blame. All the best plans and organizational intentions can be undermined if the culture doesn’t support it. Building the right culture is tough work, but where to start? In this workshop, we will investigate current departmental and/or organizational culture from a variety of angles in order to achieve a full sense of where it stands today and the opportunities it possesses. We’ll then begin the work of creating a rough draft of how to move forward from here.
