Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation - September 2025

This course on basic arrhythmia will include an overview of the heart’s electrical conduction system, review of commonly seen arrhythmias and treatment considerations for abnormal findings and priorities interventions for lethal arrhythmias. Some self-directed activity will also occur as several strips will be presented for individual interpretations throughout the day, so that the learner can proceed at their own pace with the ability to ask questions and receive guided interpretation from the presenter.

OB Emergencies - 2025

This course is designed to review several obstetrical emergencies which require the caregiver to recognize risk factors, assessment findings and required interventions to low volume/high risk OB situations. Throughout the day, several obstetrical emergencies will be reviewed along with describing signs and symptoms and priority interventions needed/required; these include, but are not limited to: pre-eclampsia/HELLP syndrome, obstetrical hemorrhage situations, shoulder dystocia, emergency delivery, uterine trauma and premature labor. In addition, knowledge learned will be applied and integrated into several simulated case studies.

WCMEW 2025 Summit Registration

The 2025 Wisconsin Healthcare Workforce Summit is scheduled for Wednesday, October 8, from 8:30 AM until 3:10 PM. This year we will have a hybrid venue, with limited seating available on-site at the Rural Wisconsin Health Cooperative in Sauk City, with the option of remote access to the meeting via zoom.
“Optimizing Wisconsin’s Healthcare Workforce” will feature WCMEW work group updates, together with a number of presentations on meeting current workforce challenges.
Last year’s Summit drew attendees from all parts of Wisconsin in virtually every area dedicated to our workforce. And, like previous Summits, it received high marks overall. This year’s event will feature even more opportunities to engage, strategize, and learn.

Caring for patients at the end of life is one of the most profound responsibilities in healthcare. This program is designed to support healthcare workers as they navigate the emotional, ethical, and practical challenges of caring for individuals during life’s final chapter.
Participants will explore the physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects of end-of-life care, examine the impact of grief and loss on patients, families, and caregivers, and develop strategies for effective communication, self-care, and resilience. The program will also address sudden death, debriefing after difficult cases, and the importance of recognizing and using available resources.
Through real-world scenarios, open discussion, and expert guidance, healthcare workers will gain the tools and confidence needed to provide compassionate care while preserving their own well-being.
