Program Description:

We communicate all day…but are we genuinely connecting? Employee engagement surveys routinely reflect opportunities for better communication within organizations. And we all experience communication disconnect that impacts the effectiveness of our working relationships with colleagues and patients. Building our communication skills is a must for our success.

Join this workshop to revamp and strengthen your communication skills. Allow the true essence of your messages to be received in the way you’d intended, while promoting feelings of respect among others with whom you interact.

Program Objectives – Participants will learn to:

  1. Incorporate the 4 components of the Communication Loop into dialogue with others
  2. Communicate so others accurately perceive the intent of the message
  3. Reflect respect for self and others through assertive communication
  4. Develop strategies to manage your own emotions and those of others during tense dialogue

Consider taking this workshop if the following are mostly true for you:

  • Despite your best efforts, others often misinterpret the intent of your messages…leading to unfortunate miscommunication
  • You communicate in ways you think are clear but somehow, it’s still confusing for others
  • You know how important communication is for working relationships and you want to continue building your skills
  • You would like to become a better listener
  • You want to be a more assertive communicator (at times you’re too passive or unintentionally aggressive)
  • You get easily emotional during tough conversations and it’s tough to keep control

Visit the RWHC Leadership Series web page to view all our class offerings. Along with the workshops, the leadership topics are available for On-Site Training.
