Target Audience:

Any healthcare worker

Program Description:

Caring for patients at the end of life is one of the most profound responsibilities in healthcare. This program is designed to support healthcare workers as they navigate the emotional, ethical, and practical challenges of caring for individuals during life’s final chapter.

Participants will explore the physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects of end-of-life care, examine the impact of grief and loss on patients, families, and caregivers, and develop strategies for effective communication, self-care, and resilience. The program will also address sudden death, debriefing after difficult cases, and the importance of recognizing and using available resources.

Through real-world scenarios, open discussion, and expert guidance, healthcare workers will gain the tools and confidence needed to provide compassionate care while preserving their own well-being.

Program Objectives- Participants will learn to:

  • Understand physical and emotional aspects of death for patients, families and healthcare workers
  • Review strategies of support for grieving families, coworkers and self
  • Utilize self-care techniques to prevent burnout and compassion fatigue
  • Discover resources to help with emotional stress
  • Discuss the debriefing process
