Target Audience:
Any healthcare-related employer or leader
Program Description:
In our day-to-day work, we witness opportunities for improvement. We may have enthusiasm or passion for what we see as possibility. However, seeing the opportunities and selling the ideas/securing approval are two different things. Advocating for changes to procedure, staffing, or philosophies that support improvements isn’t always easily received by those with the authority to enable the changes to take place. Thus, it’s time to beef up our persuasion tactics to spark action towards a brighter future!
Explore how to influence decision-makers to consider your ideas for improvement through this interactive workshop, where you’ll work with fellow healthcare colleagues to strengthen your approach and increase the likelihood of approval. Learn how to MAKE THE CASE.
Participants will learn to:
- Discover 4 key tips to consider when making a case
- Explore details & strategies needed to make a compelling case
- Introduce the SBAR framework for presenting the case
- Tie concepts together through review of an example case
Consider taking this workshop if the following are mostly true for you:
- You have thoughts to share about improvement efforts but don’t know how to put them into a logical sequence to tell your story and gain approval
- You have ideas you are passionate about but you’re struggling to influence others to see the need for change in the same light you do
- You’ve tried sharing your ideas in the past with limited success
- You’re frustrated by being shot down in the past for ideas you feel strongly will improve the work for you and others…or improve the care for patients
