Coding Consultation Service

Today, more than ever, correct and accurate coding directly impacts correct claims submission and reimbursement at your facility. With that in mind, RWHC has developed an innovative coding consultation service that will help your staff meet the heightened demand for correct coding and claims data.

The RWHC Coding Consultation Service is designed to offer practical solutions to your every day coding needs. Our goal is to educate and prepare your staff members to handle any coding challenges that may arise in an inpatient, outpatient or ambulatory surgery setting.

Following is an overview of the specific services available through this program:

  • Coding Audits – Both on and off-site audits can be scheduled to provide code validation reviews, identify data transmission errors, detect hard coded reporting issues and provide accuracy rates for corporate compliance plan requirements. To assist your ICD-10 Steering Committee with documentation expectations inherent in the new system, a record review can be scheduled to identify documentation gaps.

  • Coding Education & Training – Onsite or regional education and training programs may be scheduled as coding needs are identified.

  • Reimbursement Hotline – This is a web based tool which allows hospital staff to obtain a prompt response to specific coding questions, resolve a difference of opinion among internal staff, or to verify other coding/billing related information.  All Q/A’s are sanitized and posted to the site so all subscribers can monitor all Q/As submitted and/or search for specific detailed information.

  • Per Diem Coding – Although the focus of this service is on long-term solutions, per diem coding may be available for scheduled vacations, medical leaves or other staffing emergencies.

  • Documentation Assessment Service - This unique service will include an overall analysis of your hospital clinical documentation functions.  Chart reviews will focus on Emergency Department (ED) encounters and will include high risk and complicated cases to strengthen documentation practices, core measure data outcomes, and accurate coding functions.
